grey or gray?

First of all why can we spell grey/gray two ways?

Second why could i not figure out what to wear with my grey skirt

here is a documentation of me trying on my whole closet

I went with look three

because its a million degrees outside

I guess now  i have future outfits already picked out

for my complicated little grey/gray skirt.
