Daily Lessons #-15 Thai Love

I love new food experiences....
Daily Lesson: Thai love&&Try food

.... I'm also afraid of new food
((and a tiny bit picky))

Best of all i like rating restaurants
on a scale of one to ten

My friends and i do this often
we want to be professional foodies
:)

My Goal: Rate every restaurant in this town
That way i feel like i thoroughly have lived here
and experienced all that it has to offer!

The outfit:
Thrift Store Belt- (only one dolla!- should get all my belts at thrift stores)Leopard flats- Love themPaisley scarf- Farmers Market in Minneapolis
I wear scarves all the time... even in 80 degree weather.
(Scarf collection blog= soon to come)
The spicy coffee drink i was afraid of
(hate coffee)
Magic Genie= Steamed rice
Pad Tai. medium spicy= delicious
next time even more spice though
Overall 5 *****
because....
- very good food
- lots of choices
- authentic
- WAY too spendy!

Which was a bit of a buzz kill :(

I read once that trying new food expands your vocabulary
because you are thinking of new ways to describes the new tastes and experiences

Lets all enrich our taste buds
 cheers!

Daily Lessons #-14 Take a hike

Yep. Literally
(Daily lesson) go take a hike.
Hodges Gardens State park
is over 700 acres of beauty, breath taking views and everything
 i needed to recoup

Today was their Spring Fling event, which includes:
-Local vendors
-antique car show
-baked goods/ nummy gumbo goods
-face paintings
-local performers
- and the amazing gardens and trails

It was tough to pick between the billion beautiful pictures

If i could give it more then two thumbs up i would

I like to accentuate my guns with flowers

The merrels were perfect.
This place also couldn't be more relaxing
Heres the hiking outfit:

Light shorts. White shirt. T-shirt grey sweater.
and all time favorite jean jacket

However the bangs were annoyingly not cooperating

I hope you go out and find some nature
and enjoy!

 The Social Network

(( Really just have more movie nights and dinner dates in my life ))

I got them at American Eagle a few years ago

because you will match any color beautifully with them!

I love grey, black, neutrals

This whole outfit was a good balance of pop color
but still not too much

Daily Lessons #-11 Help those in need

We are all in this together.
We may not feel the direct impact of what has happened in Katrina, Haitia, tsunamis or Japan
but we should follow the Golden Rule
"Do onto others as you would like done to you"

So the o so cute blog of Rinse and Repeat
Is doing many giveaways to help raise money for japan.
so go on over to her blog and love this necklace
even half as much as i do
and comment
and you might just
win :)
(and then feel great about wearing it because you are helping out those in need)

Good Karma <3

Daily Lessons #-10 Homesick is ok

Being in the Army has defiantly put a damper on relationships with family and friends.
I cant begin to describe the waves of being close and chatting for hours on the phone and then fading and going days without talking. I have been in the Army for a year and half and still am not used to being away.
It sucks missing friends birthdays that you extremely want to be there for or just random days that you want your girlfriend to cry with. I cant express how much i miss my grandparents and how much i want to be there for my grandma.

Needless to say i am really home sick.

It doesn't help having a boyfriend who is even farther away then my family. I love skype dont get me wrong but i just want to reach out and feel him or kiss him.

I should be happy to be blessed with wonderful people in my life that i get to miss so much.

DAILY LESSON #10- Homesick is ok but then go home!

I am saving all my pennies to go home.
There is nothing like family and friends and sometimes seeing them is the only thing that makes it all better. I should cherish them while they still put up with me  ; )

Things i miss about home:

I miss the Sculpture Gardens and Walker Art Center
And all other Art and performing arts

The night i took this there was a music festival, it was lovely you could hear the music all around downtown

I love MN sports ( well not the Timberwolves)
And I LOVE the new Twins stadium
but i do miss the dome

This is in the park right by my college down town minneapolis
I love this park
and this fountain
and dream of living by it

I miss going to the Renaissance Festival
with my grandparents every year.
I miss the State Fair
I miss the Farmers Market in downtown Minneapolis
I miss the old car show
I miss all the summer fairs in every little city

Things not pictured that i miss:
I miss the hustle and bustle of Minneapolis
I miss 50's Grill <-- best malts, burgers, hamburger steak, chicken club and apple crisp
I miss potbellys
I miss Maple Grove shopping center
i miss jimmy johns
(down south does NOT have good sandwhich shops)
I miss caribou
I miss Patina
I miss uptown
I miss uptown with my friends
I miss good shopping
I miss heartbreaker
I miss malls and targets that are closer then an hour away
I miss Lake Calhoun
I miss the parks and trails around Minneapolis
I miss being able to get in my car and drive to my friends
I miss seeing and playing with my puppy

and most of all i miss my home i grew up in...
(My family just moved so i never get to go back)

and..

Missing the boyfriend remedy:
- Plan even better care packages
*Going to try to send him a pillow case
with my perfume all over it so he smells me when he sleeps
- Finish our scrap book
- Plan fun weekends for us for when he is back
* Bed and Breakfast
* New Orleans
* Corpus Cristi
* Movie Extravaganza weekend
* A weekend where i try to play video games and be a "Gamer"
* I really have like a million little ideas <--- Better watch out baby
- dream about our apartment together a lot <--- i wont tell him that
- Look forward to and research about the puppy he said i could get

So even though i am ridiculously wanting home, i just have to wait a little more.
I have a plan and its going to happen!

Positive thinking and Good Karma my friends!

Daily Lesson#9- Don't worry Be Happy!

I must admit it happiness is a struggle for me. I let the daily irritations, rants, complaints, stupidity and BS get to me. I let it all bring me down, bother me and stress me out.

For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness.  ~Author Unknown

I went to bed last night and said
"Tomorrow will be fabulous and great!"
and it was.

I painted my nails and picked out a cute "Bring on Summer outfit"
I woke up and did dishes and listened to Adele <-- (makes everyone smile)

Chatted on Skype with the lover boy
who is sick
but i send all my love and positive thoughts his way <3

I did my math homework with a smile, to make it less painful

I explored an antique shop, Ruby's Antiques. It is the cutest little place run by the cutest little old ladies. I saw this luggage and did not buy it and i now might just have to go back.

A friend and I took her baby to the kiddie pool for the first time
I enjoyed the sun and tanned a little

I went to a cute little restaurant in town: Fat Boys and Skinnys
Where i enjoyed a nummy BLT outside in the sun

Then... THE BEST PART...

I stumbled across the Art Walk. Live music and lots of art.

Blurry :(
Must bring camera everywhere from now on

Something about live music and street performers excites my soul. I feel alive. I love people coming together and pushing everything aside. I love enjoying a nice spring evening and pausing to soak in everything around you. I could not stop smiling and this is when i remembered...

DAILY LESSON: HAPPINESS
If you want to be happy, be.  ~Leo Tolstoy
Even if happiness forgets you a little bit, never completely forget about it.  ~Jacques PrĂ©vert

What a wonderful life I've had!  I only wish I'd realized it sooner.  ~Colette

Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.  ~Nathaniel Hawthorne

I love moments in life that light your fire of existence. Its nice to be reminded of the beauty of life and to simply have a wonderful day of beauty, nature, friends and culture.

I am stealing this from a friend...
Instead of God bless or a simple good-bye,
why not... Good Karma!
