So the o so cute blog of Rinse and Repeat
Is doing many giveaways to help raise money for japan.
so go on over to her blog and love this necklace
even half as much as i do

Daily Lessons #-10 Homesick is ok

Being in the Army has defiantly put a damper on relationships with family and friends.
I cant begin to describe the waves of being close and chatting for hours on the phone and then fading and going days without talking. I have been in the Army for a year and half and still am not used to being away.
It sucks missing friends birthdays that you extremely want to be there for or just random days that you want your girlfriend to cry with. I cant express how much i miss my grandparents and how much i want to be there for my grandma.

Needless to say i am really home sick.

It doesn't help having a boyfriend who is even farther away then my family. I love skype dont get me wrong but i just want to reach out and feel him or kiss him.

I should be happy to be blessed with wonderful people in my life that i get to miss so much.

DAILY LESSON #10- Homesick is ok but then go home!

I am saving all my pennies to go home.
There is nothing like family and friends and sometimes seeing them is the only thing that makes it all better. I should cherish them while they still put up with me  ; )

Things i miss about home:

I miss the Sculpture Gardens and Walker Art Center
And all other Art and performing arts

The night i took this there was a music festival, it was lovely you could hear the music all around downtown

I love MN sports ( well not the Timberwolves)
And I LOVE the new Twins stadium
but i do miss the dome

This is in the park right by my college down town minneapolis
I love this park
and this fountain
and dream of living by it

I miss going to the Renaissance Festival
with my grandparents every year.
I miss the State Fair
I miss the Farmers Market in downtown Minneapolis
I miss the old car show
I miss all the summer fairs in every little city

Things not pictured that i miss:
I miss the hustle and bustle of Minneapolis
I miss 50's Grill <-- best malts, burgers, hamburger steak, chicken club and apple crisp
I miss potbellys
I miss Maple Grove shopping center
i miss jimmy johns
(down south does NOT have good sandwhich shops)
I miss caribou
I miss Patina
I miss uptown
I miss uptown with my friends
I miss good shopping
I miss heartbreaker
I miss malls and targets that are closer then an hour away
I miss Lake Calhoun
I miss the parks and trails around Minneapolis
I miss being able to get in my car and drive to my friends
I miss seeing and playing with my puppy

and most of all i miss my home i grew up in...
(My family just moved so i never get to go back)

and..

Missing the boyfriend remedy:
- Plan even better care packages
*Going to try to send him a pillow case
with my perfume all over it so he smells me when he sleeps
- Finish our scrap book
- Plan fun weekends for us for when he is back
* Bed and Breakfast
* New Orleans
* Corpus Cristi
* Movie Extravaganza weekend
* A weekend where i try to play video games and be a "Gamer"
* I really have like a million little ideas <--- Better watch out baby
- dream about our apartment together a lot <--- i wont tell him that
- Look forward to and research about the puppy he said i could get

So even though i am ridiculously wanting home, i just have to wait a little more.
I have a plan and its going to happen!

Positive thinking and Good Karma my friends!

Daily Lesson#9- Don't worry Be Happy!

I must admit it happiness is a struggle for me. I let the daily irritations, rants, complaints, stupidity and BS get to me. I let it all bring me down, bother me and stress me out.

For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness.  ~Author Unknown

I went to bed last night and said
"Tomorrow will be fabulous and great!"
and it was.

I painted my nails and picked out a cute "Bring on Summer outfit"
I woke up and did dishes and listened to Adele <-- (makes everyone smile)

Chatted on Skype with the lover boy
who is sick
but i send all my love and positive thoughts his way <3

I did my math homework with a smile, to make it less painful

I explored an antique shop, Ruby's Antiques. It is the cutest little place run by the cutest little old ladies. I saw this luggage and did not buy it and i now might just have to go back.

A friend and I took her baby to the kiddie pool for the first time
I enjoyed the sun and tanned a little

I went to a cute little restaurant in town: Fat Boys and Skinnys.
Where i enjoyed a nummy BLT outside in the sun

Then... THE BEST PART...

I stumbled across the Art Walk. Live music and lots of art.

Blurry :(
Must bring camera everywhere from now on

Something about live music and street performers excites my soul. I feel alive. I love people coming together and pushing everything aside. I love enjoying a nice spring evening and pausing to soak in everything around you. I could not stop smiling and this is when i remembered...

DAILY LESSON: HAPPINESS
If you want to be happy, be.  ~Leo Tolstoy
Even if happiness forgets you a little bit, never completely forget about it.  ~Jacques Prévert

What a wonderful life I've had!  I only wish I'd realized it sooner.  ~Colette

Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.  ~Nathaniel Hawthorne

I love moments in life that light your fire of existence. Its nice to be reminded of the beauty of life and to simply have a wonderful day of beauty, nature, friends and culture.

I am stealing this from a friend...
Instead of God bless or a simple good-bye,
why not... Good Karma!

Daily Lesson#8- Awakening

I'm sharing this from my church lesson this morning
The first point really got to me....

DAILY LESSON: We need an AWAKENING of ourselves.

We need to climb out of our holes of anger, hurt, depression, complaining or whatever is getting us down. We need to be awakened and live.

After church i went out for a morning bite at a local diner then went to my room and slept.
This restaurant clearly named after me: Bobbie Jean
We rate local restaurants: BJ's= 8

Then thought to myself, "What am i doing?, NOTHING!" I am not fond of the place where i am stationed and complain about it often. (( clearly i just complain far too much in general )) What am i going to do, sit around and sleep everyday? NO!

So i sprung out of bed, drove around to find thrift stores, went out for dinner with friends, power walked the golf course, and had a milk bath ( over 800 recipes) with some studying. It all felt so great to get out there and enjoy the beauty of the day and even though i am not where i want to be, i should enjoy where i am.

This weeks goals:
- Not be lazy
-Blog during the week
- Eat salads
- Power walk (At least twice)
-Pay all bills
-Send of pretty care package to lover boy
-Have lots of fun at hobby lobby

Daily Lesson#7- Gratitude.

Just your typical saturday morning with plans of the day being fabulous in every way.
Until...
you go to the bathroom and try to flush and it does nothing. hoping my toilet is just on strike i try the sink, the other sink and the shower. nothing. I evaluate the hair situation in the mirror and thank God for hats and hair appointments that will save the day. Anger also sets in that i have to constantly live without water whenever some people feel like doing construction and turn it off all day without warning.

I found a way to get through it though.. A) hair appointment makes me look better B) painting my nails mint green makes my nails look better C) dressing cute makes me look somewhat put together D) naps makes the time go by faster E) smoothie shops makes me feel healthier F) subway with a friend helps me completely forget the situation and G)... GRATITUDE

DAILY LESSON: GRATITUDE

Gratitude for everything that i have everyday and completely take advantage of.
I am so thankful to have water (normally)
I am so thankful i have all kinds of things in my life that make my life easier
I am thankful for my car
I am thankful for a computer and internet
I am thankful most of all for the people that laugh at my life with me and help me live through the annoying no water times

I watched the "documentary" The Secret the other day, the part i liked most besides positive thinking is just being grateful for what we do have. I often have a million wish-lists for this that and the other. I need to be grateful for what is sitting right in front of me.

So no water today thank you for teaching me how to appreciate water... but please stay around.

Daily Lessons#6- The BIG Bang

I DID IT! I got bangs! Then immediately following i went home and fixed them up the way i wanted to (sorry hair stylist) and did this little photo shoot.

Yep I love them! I have already looked in every mirror and window i could possibly today to check myself out.

DAILY LESSON- CHANGE IS GOOD!

If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.

Change scares me. I like control and being in control or knowing someone super smart and organized is in control (normally me). But i have to accept that i am not always in control. However i can control my hair and i made a change for the better. Yay. So go forth and make a change in your life!

Today thus far:
Wonderful skype session with the boy. Oh how i love him
Wonderful day out
Wonderful church service- JOY JOY JOY. Be Joyful.
Wonderful Starbucks Chai with wonderful friends
Wonderful bang cut for the low low of $7
Wonderful photo shoot to show all of you lovelies
now.. not so wonderful i'm going to work for a few hours... but i'm going to be joyful :)

Daily Lessons#5- Love Friends

So you would think that a big thunderstorm, lightening and crazy rain would stop a range from happening. It does not. I am sure this comforts most non-military personal to know that we do not ever stop working. But shooting in the rain and rolling in mud puddles was not as great as it may seem. It did produce this amazing picture :)

Sad Panda

I have been rather irritated with my choice of day job lately. I have been grumpy, sassy and amazingly sarcastic. Fortunately i cant put in my two weeks notice so i have to get through it.

DAILY LESSON: LOVE FRIENDS AND SPEND TIME WITH THEM OFTEN

I love my friends for letting me call and cry and vent for how ever long it takes.
I love my friends for letting me sent vent texts whenever.
I love my friends for telling me what i need to hear.
I love my friends for telling me i am awesome and blowing up my ego.
I love their advice when i do not know what to do.
I love how much i miss them and they miss me.

And for my friends here... thanks for putting up with me and helping me get through. Hopefully i provide comedic relief to you all :)

My saturday in pictures:
Chinese is all we could think about at the range
Melissa: My new ferret friend

Black Swan was one crazy, intense, beautiful movie. Probably just because i love Natalie Portman ever since Garden State :)

So LOVE friends and hang out with them and then tell them you LOVE them!
